Our Approach

Core Synergy Group provides a full range of consultancy services on various aspects of community building and community development. We can provide full lifecycle support, from initial planning and design through development to program implementation and evaluation.

How do we work with you?

We provide a named contact who will work with you and coordinate all the services necessary to ensure that your needs are met to the standards and are delivered on time and on budget.

Planning

Our planners apply sound planning principles and work closely with clients to develop custom community–building solutions that meet their needs, based on the organizations' initial state of understanding, and the desired outcome. Courses may be designed for remote technical assistance, blended with face to face service delivery. They may rely on group work or work-based learning, depending on the nature of the content and outcomes, the target audience, and the client’s requirements.

We also advise you on how to incorporate the appropriate use of technology, in the form of a virtual conferencing or chat sessions, or video.

Development

We deliver our projects on time and to the highest quality levels. Our development team consists of project managers, project consultants, grant writers, technical assistance providers, HOPE VI community and supportive service experts, work force development consultants, community technology experts, website designers, who can rapidly produce web resources, multimedia and interactive learning resources, community building and community capacity building reference material in print or online formats.

Program Implementation and Training

From the beginning, we consider issues of support, in particular:

  • Training needs for staff and stakeholder/partners
  • Staff and stakeholder support needs

We provide staff training on how to get the most out of technology, how to be an effective case managers and how to support the strategic objectives of organizations and their special projects or programs. We also provide a dedicated team of subject matter experts who handle client queries and can provide proactive subject matter support to help the organization stay on track in their project implementation efforts.

Evaluation

We are constantly seeking ways to improve performance. We keep up to date with research, market developments and best practices.

We evaluate our projects in terms of client satisfaction, customer and stakeholder feedback and achievement of outcomes. Our experience and expertise in these areas means that we are well placed to evaluate our projects and make realistic recommendations for improvement and/or service delivery.

Our Projects

Core Synergy Group helps public agencies and non-profit organizations formulate strategies and develop new programs aimed at serving their constituencies more effectively.

We integrate pragmatic and comprehensive urban community-building strategies to shape a holistic and sustainable green urban community-building solution to urban issues, and to provide a platform for social learning – building bridges between Federal, state local governments, academia, and the real world of urban dwellers.

Our experience includes strategic planning, program development and project funding in such areas as workforce development, community technology, homeland security, case management, social action, and community services.

Here are just a few examples of our projects:

Technical Assistance to Federal housing agencies, state and local community and supportive services programs,  housing developers, and community technology programs for public housing authorities, resident groups, faith based, community action, housing security, homeland security, and community development groups.

  • U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, HUD

Through a sub contract with Sigma Capital, on HUD’s behalf, Core Synergy Group provided technical assistance to ten HOPE VI sites to develop self-sufficiency plans and programs through enhanced case management services, revised individual education and training plans, and expanded community partnerships (See other details below).

  • Technical Assistance on HOPE VI Community and Supportive Services for public housing authorities.
  • U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, HUD

Through a contract with Spectrum Consulting, on HUD’s behalf, Core Synergy Group provided technical assistance to fifteen HOPE VI sites to develop self-sufficiency plans and programs through enhanced case management services and expanded community partnerships.

Core Synergy Group has provided case management training, focusing on developing individual family goals and outcomes based on assets and resources. Core Synergy Group has also assisted these housing authorities, their residents, and other local stakeholders with the development of revised CSS work plans, strategic plans, new policies and procedures manuals, staff training, and outreach strategies for both residents and community partners.

  • Management Consulting - Technical Assistance to Improve Section 8 Operations

Rensellear Housing Authority, RHA

As part of a contract with North-American Management, for HUD, Core Synergy Group was asked to assist HUD in addressing Section 8 management issues at the Housing Authority. Core Synergy Group worked with North-American Management and the Rensellear Housing Authority Executive Director to conduct on-site technical assistance to improve functional section 8 operations and rewriting the Agency’s public housing and Section 8 occupancy policies. The Core Synergy Group developed recommendations to address key issues and trained staff.

  • Daytona Beach HOPE VI CSS Technical Assistance


Daytona Beach Housing Authority, DHA, (FL)

Core Synergy Group has provided technical assistance to the Daytona Beach Housing Authority to plan and develop the CSS work plan and implement case management service for both Bethune/Halifax and Martin Luther King HOPE VI sites. The Core Synergy Group continues to assist the Daytona Beach Housing Authority with the administration of its CSS program through strategic planning, Section 3 guidance, and Neighborhood Networks implementation activities.

Non Profit Website Design

We create user friendly, easily navigable websites for non-profits and small business engaged in nonprofit work. We use appropriate fonts, colors, and other design elements to design nonprofit websites and small non-profit serving business websites.

We offer more than your typical corporate site.

We understand nonprofit websites needs to make it easy for visitors to find out more about their cause, to donate money, and to become more involved. It needs to make it easy for media contacts to find the information they need and the contact information of key personnel.
